KMAIL Setup

Linux E-MAIL CLIENT
Kmail is a KDE E-Mail client in linux. If you are using Gnome as your desktop environment don't worry
you can still run kmail even though it is a KDE program.

1. Open Kmail by typing
      kmail
   at the shell prompt
2.  Go to --> Settings
             click --> Configure Kmail...
3. IDENTITY --> Personal Information
              fill out  the following fields:
                   name
                   email   #put your full email address 
 
 
4. NETWORK --> Setup for Sending and Receiving Messages
           Sending Mail 
                select --> sendmail    #leave the "/usr/bin/sendmail" in tact.            Incoming Mail
                 cick --> Add...
                     select --> IMAP 

4a.        General
                     fill out the following fields 
                     name    #firts name or nickname
                     login     #a.k.a. username
                     host      #put  mail.egr.unlv.edu
               #DO NOT FILL OUT PASSWORD field
               Security  Encryption
                     select --> " Use SSL for secure mail download"
               Security Authenthication Method 
                     select --> PLAIN
                    click-->OK

5. Click OK for any remaining windows
     a password window prompt will come up
     type your Engineering Account Password.
